My name is Brigitte
Photography has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I have always felt a deep connection to nature in all its forms, and making photographs became a natural way for me to preserve the beauty, amosphere, and moments that caught my eye. My love for travel allowed me to take advantage of the free time I gained after retiring from a career in banking. I finally pursued photography more seriously and expanded my skills through formal study. I attended classes at ICP (International Center of Photography), the School of Visual Arts (SVA), and New York University (NYU). My continued studies with Clifford Pickett’s Lightroom Academy have further strengthened my ability to recognize images with potential and to develop them thoughtfully through the editing process.
My interests are wide-ranging. I am drawn to flora and fauna, wildlife, landscapes, architecture, sculpture, and painting. I often photograph works of art and architectural details, and enjoy exploring ways to create photographs that themselves have a painterly or sculptural quality.
Wilfllife photography holds a particularly special place in my heart. I love the challenge of capturing animals in their natural surroundings and sharing their beauty, character, and spirit with others. Though New York based, my travels to Antarctica, New Zealand, Australia, Bolivia, Chile and Peru as well as to Hudson Bay and Botswana not only exposed me to different kinds of wildlife but also plants and gorgeous sunrises and sunsets.
I am equally fascinated by night photography. Photographing the Milky Way, star trails, sunrises and sunsets, and moonrises and moonsets give me an opportunity to capture moments that can feel both intimate and extraordinary. My travels within the US have exposed me to the beauty of Death Valley, Alabama Hills and Trona Pinnacles in California, to Sedona in Arizona and many places of the US East Coast.
Above all, I photograph what moves me. Over time, you will find a diverse collection of images here, reflecting the many subjects and places that continue to inspire me.
All of my photographs are available for purchase. If an image speaks to you, I would be delighted to hear from you. Please contact me through the Contact page.
